Understanding Health Care Options for Elderly/Disabled
Bennett Rehabilitation Center and local attorney John
Longnaker, Certified Elder Law Attorney, are together
presenting a free educational session about the choices
available for the care of an aging parent/relative or
disabled person and options for care after hospitalization.
The educational program also will focus on the legal issues
to consider when making decisions for yourself, an aging
parent/relative, or a disabled person.
The program, “Understanding Your Health Care Options,” will
be Saturday, Oct. 17, from 9 to 11 a.m. in the Saint John’s
Medical Center Cafeteria, located on the lower level. To
register, call 608-2677 by Oct. 14.
Longnaker is certified by the National Elder Law Foundation.
Elder Law is an accredited law specialty in Indiana.
Saint John’s discharge planner Melanie Morris, BSW, will
discuss hospital discharge planning and the post acute
restorative/rehab care alternatives, such as intensive
inpatient rehabilitation (Bennett Rehabilitation Center),
home health care, skilled nursing facilities, nursing homes
and assisted living facilities. Morris graduated from Ball
State University with a Bachelor’s of Social Work in 1997.
