SAINT JOHN'S FOUNDATION:
Saint John's Foundation is a charitable 501 (c) (3) organization
dedicated to raising funds for Saint John's Health System and its
programs. Since its founding in 1894 by the Sisters of the Holy
Cross, Saint John's mission has been to provide quality, comprehensive
health care services to those in need, regardless of ability to pay.
Today, Saint John's is a member of St.Vincent Health, which is part of
Ascension Health, the nation's largest Catholic healthcare provider. Saint John's
is an integrated delivery network, offering the latest technology and easy
access to health care services from various locations in Madison and
Delaware counties. Saint John's is particularly well known for centers of
excellence behavioral treatment services, rehabilitation, cancer, women's
services, and home care.
All health care organizations today face unprecedented challenges. Rising health care costs, dwindling reimbursement, and
swelling numbers of uninsured and underinsured patients are only a few of
the pressures facing today's health care providers.
Saint John's is addressing these challenges. While maintaining
our quality services and patient satisfaction, we are also achieving
notable levels of efficiency. We are among the most efficient health
care providers in the state. Yet, the cost of rapidly changing
technology and further reimbursement reductions challenge us to find ways
to fund the level of health care our residents deserve and have come to
expect. Saint John's anticipates further reimbursement reductions of
$9-million in the next five years.
