“Gala in the Vineyards” Raises over $45,000 for Saint
John’s Children’s Clinic
The forth annual Cornell Financial Group of UBS “Gala in the Vineyards” raised
over $45,000 for the Saint John’s Children’s Clinic. The January 17 event was
held at the Hardacre Ballroom in the Paramount Theatre Center.
“Saint John’s is very appreciative of the generosity the community has shown
through the support of the Gala in the Vineyards,” stated Saint John’s President
Kyle DeFur.
In addition to sponsoring the event, Cornell Financial Group of UBS matched
contributions from their clients up to $5,000, Keg ‘n Bottle donated $7,000
through it’s Wine Press Giving Club.
Two very special gifts were also announced at the “Gala in the Vineyards.” One
contribution was made in memory of Matthew Sromek by Kathleen Sromek; the other
gift was in memory of Lisa McVicker by Robert McVicker.
The evening featured tasting stations including Chateau Thomas Winery, The
Crescent Moon Café, Bixby's Coffee House, Easley Winery, Good's Candy Shop, Keg
'n Bottle, Mickey’s Grandview, Oliver Winery, Vince's Restaurant at the Muncie
Airport, Texas Roadhouse, and Wilson Winery.
Randy Frieling and Kay Clark entertained attendees with the piano while they
browsed over 100 auction items and artwork displays from several local artists,
including members of the Artworks Gallery, Ray Freer, Mollie Plummer, and Betty
Steenerson.

The Saint John’s Children’s Clinic, a freestanding facility, located at 15 West
19 Street, provides free medical and dental care to eligible children through
age 18. Clinic hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
