PAIN
CENTER
Saint
John’s Pain Clinic was developed in 1993 to address the
needs of patients who experience chronic pain without
relief. We treat over 1600 patients per year. Our success
rate is 98% for a decrease in pain. All pain can not always
be relieved, but our goal is to achieve the best possible
pain control and maintain your quality of life.
If you are suffering from chronic pain due to injury,
arthritis, degenerative disease, shingles, sciatica or other
causes, please ask your family physician for a referral to
Saint John’s
Pain Clinic.
The
nurses at the clinic are experienced in pain management.
Dr. Charles Howe is a board certified anesthesiologist with
a specialty in pain management.
Most procedures are done in the surgery area and are on an
outpatient basis. You will be given medication through an
IV to help you relax during the procedure, but you will be
awake and able to talk to the doctor and nurses during the
procedure. Your blood pressure and heart rate will be
monitored throughout the procedure and recovery time.
We feel that
through a single procedure or a short series of procedures
you will have a significant reduction or even complete
relief from your pain.
The
nurses will be active in your pre- and post care and your
follow-up needs after you go home. In pain management, it
is essential that the patient assume equal responsibility in
their care by:
• Keeping all appointments.
• Calling in progress reports 14 days following the
procedure, as requested.
• Take medications as prescribed by your physician.
Prescribing pain medication is not our goal.
