VOLUNTEERING:
The face of volunteering at Saint John's Health System is as varied as
the individual. With the introduction of several new programs,
anyone interested in finding a meaningful volunteer experience can find it
as a Saint John's volunteer.
The hundreds of volunteers at Saint John's are integral members of our
health care delivery team. Volunteer opportunities continue to grow.
Volunteering at Saint John's has so many benefits. Most
importantly, volunteers value being part of a health care team, partnering
with employees in our ministry of serving others. Some volunteers
have direct patient contact, while others serve behind the scenes.
We have volunteer opportunities to match everyone's interests,
experiences and schedule. Most volunteer assignments require no
previous experience. You determine how often you can serve.
In addition to the traditional adult volunteer program, there is:
- The Junior Volunteer Program has approximately 32 teenagers serving
in various areas.
- Loving Hands for Babies is a sewing and knitting group that has
grown to membership of 50. They have expanded their work to
provide baby clothing for the Healthy Families program, in addition to
caps, mitts, kimonos, blankets and bereavement kits made for the Saint
John's Birthing Center.
